ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE
Marlie has served as the dramaturg for multiple shows, creating everything from packets on historical background (Lizzie, dir. Nick Hrutkay) to marketing presentations geared to elementary-aged audiences. Most recently, she created dramaturgical materials for the American Repertory Theater’s Romeo and Juliet dir. Diane Paulus.
Marlie additionally has diverse directing experience from ten-minute plays to Zoom comedies to full-length new works. In the fall of 2023, she served as the assistant director for Princeton Triangle Club’s new musical comedy Ship Happens: A Cruisical (dir. Marc Tumminelli) which played at the McCarter Theater for two weekends as well as on national tour.
Marlie deeply champions the transformative power of theater education. In spring of 2024, Marlie created and led a free playwriting workshop through Princeton which welcomed over 40 local high school students. Currently, she teaches with Trenton Youth Theater which brings Princeton students and Trenton high school students together to create art through weekly classes.
On-campus at Princeton, Marlie is always busy crafting and supporting new theater, whether its through weekly writing workshops for Triangle Club or nationally spreading the word about the club’s shows as the group’s PR Manager or outreaching on behalf of the Lewis Center for the Arts as the theater department’s Community Coordinator.
